Wichita Falls Flea Market

I've posted some flea market photographs on my Fotki site. This project has become far more complex and engaging than I ever imagined. It is a complete bust as far as money is concerned, but the people and objects are worth millions.

That first one gets lots of positive responses. She was standing in the direct noon sunlight but for some reason the shot worked.

Chuck, enjoyed all of your people pictures. I’m curious, do you have a portrait booth set up or are you just doing candid shots? Didn’t understand the comment about it being a bust money wise.

My wife and I use to hang out at the Common Market, a very popular flea market, here in Houston and shoot candids. We had a great time.

BTW, is there still an active camera club in Wichita Falls? I was a member back in the sixties. At that time the club was fairly large and very active. Even sponsered a PSA International Competition while I was there. I have asked a couple of people from there lately and they are not aware of a club.

I have a booth although I often take shots of people walking past too. I wander around taking pictures of objects all over the market. There is no way to make money at the portrait thing as far as I can see. This did not surprise me. Wichita Falls does not seem to have a camera club. I've closed my booth for a short break. Very happy to hear you enjoyed the pictures.

The Red River Photography Club is based out of WFalls.... I'm not a member though.

There is a club in Wichita falls called the Red River Photography Club and we meet the second Tuesday of each month at the Kemp Center for the Arts across the street from the Times Record News at 7pm. Jason and Rick, thanks for the reply. I knew the Kemp Center for the Arts as the Kemp Public Library when I hung out in the storage room reading back issues of photography magazines.

Chuck, hope you don't mind if I share a flea market shot I did on a field trip with the Wichita Falls Camera Club. This was not in WF but some small town toward Dallas.
