Structure & Form.... (couple of Houston bldgs) - F717 - 09-29-2005, 11:45 PM

I've left people alone for a bit and started photographing buildings. I'm not a bit fan of capturing the building as a whole but rather its anatomy (if you will). The form, shapes and lines of the structure is really what makes the building what it is.

Tell me if i've succeeded or at the very least, show them in an unique perspective. I have to admit, after only 2 buildings, I was running out of different styles to shoot just by standing under a building. Hopefully reading that new composition book i bought will help.

All comments welcome.

Got couple of more shots here: http://onewaymule.smugmug.com/gallery/847094/1/38056071

btw - if you know of any photographer who shoots architecture with an uncommon angle/composition then please share :)

I particularly like the 1st and 3rd shots. I think the 3rd is the standout, very well done.

The third one is definitely a winner!

Manipulate in PS for an american flag at the bottom 1/3 place!

Print it thereafter!
Happy photography.

The fourth doesn't really do much for me, but I really like the others. Especially #3.

I think you'll be OK, they have a thin candy shell. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

I love #3. 1 and 2 are great also. I think #4 is penalized for following #3. I also like architectural composition and angle shots. Here is one of mine.

I havent been on this forum in eons!

But I learnt a valuable lesson on having good sky & clouds when shooting architecture.
Bob, i think you also benefited from your clouds there.

Thank you all for your honest feedback on these!

I like the second one, because the glass sort of blends into the sky, but there are the black lines of the building. Great shots.

They are all good, but I like the first one. I like the way the light fingers out over the panes on the right side of the building. A look I haven't seen anywhere else!
