Houston: FotoFest 2008 - March 7th - April 20th

For people in the Houston area March 7-April 20, the every-other-year FotoFest takes place. FotoFest is one of the major portfolio reviews around the country, others including portfolio reviews in Santa Fe and Portland. But coinciding with the reviews are exhibits, lectures, and other programs around the city that are open to the public and most free. Here is the link: http://www.fotofest.org/ff2008/exhib2008.htm. I went to the opening this past Friday, a big turn out with tons of people and good fun.

The photography was interesting too and this year the theme is China - lots of photography by folks from china regarding different themes.

Basically every weekend from now till April 20th, there is a new exhibit at some gallery or another in town.
