Workshop is on, PMs sent to participants. It's going to be pretty good with a small group. The workshop is now closed to folks that haven't contacted me already.

Thank you.

Wow what a great workshop!

I attended Paco's workshop from this weekend and I just need to give my review. The workshop was held at his home in Plano so it was very convenient for me. As I was driving over to the workshop I realized that I forgot my notebook to take some notes so I figured I would just take whatever notes on my iPhone. Much to my suprise Paco had a three ring binder for all of us with very professional put together material.

We spent the first couple of hours going over basic lighting theory, which Paco pointed out that we needed to understand otherwise your just guessing. This was part a refresher for me but at the same time it allowed the information to sink a little bit deeper into my brain.

The rest of the morning and all afternoon it was all about shooting. We had 4 participants so we broke into teams of two and worked with two beautiful models (who were originally from Bangladesh). We practiced with indoor strobe lighting, outdoor ambient lighting, as well as a mixture of outdoor ambient and strobes. Paco didn't tell us what settings to use on our camera nor tell us how to pose the models. Instead he had us plan the shoot and he would switch between the two teams and provide guidance and help when needed. This is the best way to learn, you may stumble and feel awkward because you don't know what to do but you really learn this way. I have been to workshops before where the instructor basically sets up the lighting and tells you what to set your camera to. This workshop was a refreshing change from that.

I would highly recommend taking Paco's workshop when he offers it next for anyone struggling with lighting. As he mentioned to us he doesn't do the workshop to make money but more to help and educate others. In that respect Paco gets an "A" in my book.

An extra bonus was that we had a great lunch.

cheers, Scott.

I couldn't agree more with Scott. One of the best workshops I attended as far as gaining the knowledge is concerned. After the workshop is over.. I got the same feeling I got after attending Texas School last year.

I will be posting images from the workshop soon.

Bill, Hope you are feeling better now. Even though we don't know you personally, we missed you yesterday.

Thank you Phanee, I'm sorry I had to miss meeting everyone and participating. Yesterday was worse than Saturday but I'm feeling better this morning.

I look forward to seeing some of the results from Saturday.
