This is a one day workshop at the fire academy, coordinated through the college and taught by me. We will arrive about 7:45 am and start at 8am. There will be a lecture/discussion and the majority of the day will be spent outside photographing the rookies as they gear up,deploy and extinguish large outdoor pit fires. There will be a lot of good photo opportunities.
The lecture topics will include:
*Fire Scene Safety
*How to locate a fire scene - this will be about scanners
*Terminology
*How to approach a scene
*What to wear
*Techniques/Issues specific to this type photography
*Media outlets for these types of photos
*Legal issues
I am limiting this workshop to 10 people due to safety concerns on my part.
***NOTE* - Due to the nature of this workshop a liability release will be required before the workshop starts. Please understand there are inherent dangers when operating on a fire ground. Especially when you are looking through a lense and not at your surroundings.
