Advanced Portrait Lighting with George Simian - December 16th




This one day demo and hands-on practice builds on the previous, Basic Portrait Lighting seminar, by exploring in greater depth the creation and control of electronic flash lighting, while photographing people on location.

The emphasis will be on lighting the subject in dramatic and enhancing ways, separating from the background, and in lighting the background in ways that complement the subject.

We will cover balancing flash with continuous light, using color gels and custom white balance to create striking color effects, and using the ability of flash to freeze camera movement, as a technique to separate the subject from the background. Students will make images of each other.
