This is a 3 hour class once a week for four weeks on Saturdays. This is NOT a one-day class. You must register for all 4-weeks. Advance registration required. Registration closes 2 days before the class date starts.

Adobe Photoshop CS4 for Photographers is hands-on with each student using a MacPro Dual-Core Intel with 23” Cinema Display equipped with an Intuos graphics tablet.

• We will cover the basic concept of color management. Starting with the big question: “How do I make my prints match the image on my monitor?” This introduction will help you understand the ways in which Adobe Photoshop interprets and manages color.
• Learn timesaving file and handling with Adobe Bridge, the next-generation File Browser, where you can process multiple camera raw images at once, resize, rate, and label thumbnails; quickly review images in Slideshow mode, and search metadata.
• See how you can process all digital Camera Raw files, enjoy automatic adjustments of exposure, shadows, and brightness and contrast; and much more.
• Archive your film or prints, and learn how to get the best scans out of any scanner.
• Then the fun begins! Image manipulation in Photoshop CS3. We will cover image resolution –
pixels versus vectors, and altering the image size. How should you save your file and why?
(TIFF,PSD,JPEG etc…) Introduction to layers and why use them. Color corrections using adjustment layers creating selections, using curves, skin retouching, as well as montage techniques, cropping, rotation, sharpening, black & white from color.
• And finally making great prints. We will cover printing techniques for your portfolio or for fine art, using the Epson 2400 printer
