This workshop will explore the glamour style of photography, focusing on the best ways to light and shoot models. By its contemporary definition, glamour photography presents stylishly sexy images of women. Doing this right means having not just an attractive model but also an alluring wardrobe, fashionable makeup and hairstyling.
Photographer Tim Jahns will reveal the art of glamour photography with valuable insights and methods. In a professional studio atmosphere, using state of the art equipment, students will learn how to set-up and use various studio lighting techniques and the best way to direct and shoot a model. By class end you will have gained both technical information and a deeper sense of photographic style.
The workshop will outline equipment needs for quality glamour shooting, how to find models, develop a good portfolio, as well as discuss ways to pursue Glamour Photography as a profession.
This class is a hands-on experience in a professional commercial studio with a professional model.
Participants will need to bring an adjustable DSLR camera and compact flash card of at least 1 GB. No prior studio experience is required.
Tim Jahns has over 25 years of photography experience in fine art, fashion, glamour and commercial photography. He has specialized in glamour photography since 1993, with his images featured in many magazines, calendars, web productions and gallery exhibitions. His work has appeared in Playboy, Esquire (Turkish ed.), Focus fine art magazine, Maxim, Savvy.com, ign.com and many others. Getty Images, Swanstock and other stock agencies have represented his images. His fine art photography has been exhibited at many galleries including BC Space, Cypress College Photo Gallery, Palos Verdes Art Center, Orange County Center for Contemporary Art, and Grand Central Art Center, Santa Ana.
