I teach Basic Photography at the local community college in Beeville and have fun teaching folks the use of their camera. I like to pick quaint locations for shoots, it makes life interesting. So come join Stephanie and myself in some weekend photo fun.

Stephanie is an accomplished Macro photographer and will be teaching folks how to take better macro images.

The weekend workshop will be held in Buffalo Gap, Texas on Saturday May 17, 2008 from 8am until 6pm. It will be held at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Buffalo Gap located at 909 Live Oak St. The church is located one mile from the Historic Buffalo Gap Village. Check out this link for more info on Buffalo Gap:

Learn to use the manual mode on your new digital, film, or small point and shoot camera. We will go over the types of equipment available, different exposure levels, shutter speed, aperture values, depth of field, digital files and formats, bracketing, understanding the Rule of Thirds, understanding histograms, taking the best advantage of the "Golden light" and much more.....

We will also be shooting in the area for approximately an hour or so, critiquing photos and doing Post Processing on Photoshop for the Beginning Photographer afterwards. Learn some of the basics of Photoshop and also a few more tricks to help you with your post processing. If you have a laptop with Photoshop Elements or above, bring it, if not, it’s not required. I am using Photoshop CS3, but it’s okay, the tools are the same, just that CS3 has more features.

The cost will be $175.00 for the eight hours and will include refreshments. Lunch is on your own from 12n to 1pm. The Buffalo Gap Flea Market will be going on during the day of the shoot, allowing other photo ops and an additional place to eat at.

Maximum number of students:12

Registration and payment must be made by May 10, 2008 (a discount of $25.00 if registered by 05/03/08)
