Denton: Final Basic Studio Posing & Lighting Class - October 12th - 09-19-2008, 12:28 PM

Basic Studio Posing and Lighting Seminar

Date: Sunday, October 12, 2008 beginning at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until all eyes are glazed over.
Tuituion: $79.00 includes lunch and handouts
Location: 3805 West University Drive (Hwy 380 about 0.6 mi. west of I-35 on the Decatur Highway)

It looks like I have an offer that I can't refuse and I will be selling the building that houses my studio. So this will be the last class at my studio in Denton. In the future I will join the ranks of location only photographers fighting for a spot at the favorite tree at the Arboretum. lol. There are already plans in the works for me teaching this class in Houston. I am available and willing to consider other locations if someone wants to offer a facility at a reasonable price.

The tuition is only $79.00 for all day and lunch and handouts are included in the price. If you send your payment by September 26 you can deduct $10.00. Checks in the mail are preferred, but you can also call my cell with a credit card (940) 390-2403. Payment at the seminar will be cash only.

We will cover the basics of light quality, light quantity, lighting patterns, and facial analysis for the most flattering lighting. I will show you how I photograph and the equipment I use, but also discuss how you can get the same lighting with your current equipment. We will also talk about inexpensive alternatives for those on a limited budget. I plan to have plenty of time for questions and for hands on practice. The class will officially end at 5:00 p.m., but I will be glad to stay later if anyone wants more practice. You are invited to bring your camera and your lights. If you have any questions call my cell at (940) 390-2403. I look forward to meeting you and sharing.

Confirmed:
1. Jim Derbyshire
2. DaShell Sellers
3. Chris Leiter
4. Jeff Leiter
5. Phaneendra
6. Tracey Graham

Maybe:
1. Ronnie
2. Ronnie's Friend
3. Randy Smith
4. Kevin Lynam

I can't believe that I have had only one person sign up so far. He will get a very personalized class. I extended the discount date until Friday. This is my last class at the studio so don't miss out.

I think that the new categorizing format of TPF makes it harder to advertise these events. I personally don't think to look here often enough.
I had no idea that this class was happening.

For those who go, they will get some of the best hands on instruction money can buy.

Oh Don, I hate to miss it! I have a shoot until at least 2pm. Hard to believe you're selling the studio. I envy that you got an offer that you couldn't refuse. No one can blame someone for that. Sounds like your are inching ever closer to retirement but I can't imagine that either.

If something happens and I get loose, I'd love to take the class, so I'll show up with money in hand. Guess I'll have a good excuse now to visit in Houston or wherever else you might put one of these on.

Best of luck with everything and I'm sure I'll see you around. You've taught me a lot already. (Location photographer, it does have a nice ring to it...)

Don - I've wanted to meet you for quite a while (still hope to) and would really like to attend your session. But I coach youth football, and Saturdays this time of year are game days.

EDIT: Maybe I should read better, you said SUNDAY. But that is church day so no good for me either...rats...

Are you selling your studio (i.e. equipment, everything) to another photog or just the building?

I'm not sure how far Photopolis is from Denton, but if church doesn't last all day you could still come and join us. If you get here after lunch it is only half price.

I am selling my building and lot to a non photographic business and a lot of studio equipment and props since I don't plan to build another studio. I would sell my entire business for the right price. Are you interested?

Don ...

I'd love to attend if you have room for one more. However, as I've said before, my real job may interfere at the last minute and I could be on airplane heading east or west. So last minute cancellation may occur. I hope I have a chance to finally meet you. Because I never can schedule 100%, I'll gladly pay cash full price at the door.

Thank you for offering this.
Randy

Interested in buying it? Absolutely! Able to buy it? Seriously doubt it.

I'll make every effort to be there Sunday after Church...
