Houston: Photoshop Class (Tracy Hicks) - April 4th - 02-27-2009, 07:50 AM

What: All day photoshop workshop
When: April 4, 2009 8am till 4pm
Where: La Quinta Inn & Suites Houston 1960
415 FM 1960
Houston, TX 77073
Phone: (281)784-1112

This class is being offered to TPF member first for only $99. Space will be limited so sign up early and often. :)

You can either send $$ through paypal to: tracyhicks1@att.net
or call me with a Visa/MC and I can run it through.

For the ones that came to the PS liquify class this will be a lot like that but going over everything in the image.

Want to learn to make those cool eyes?
Want to make her look like plastic? lol! (You know they love that stuff)
Liquify?
Skin tones?
Levels, Contrast, Staturation?
Layer making?
Dodge, Burn?
Healing, cloning?

This is not a class on how Photoshop works. This is a class on how to make your images pop! Set them out from all the others.

Bring your laptop with CS2 or higher and work along with me on the same images as I do them on the overhead. No secrets held back.

I'm going to keep this offer open to TPF members for about a week....if it doesnt sell out then I'll open this up to the general public at $149.

Tracy

If I didn't value my life I'd show you the before on this shot... but at the class I'll show how I did it. :)

Is this geared for the absolute beginner or do you have any tricks for us advanced guys?

For myself, Making her look like plastic, Skin tone, and Dodge & Burning are ringing my bells for this class. As I am always willing to learn new tricks from someone else in these areas.

This is going to be medium / more advanced. I think most people that come should know the basics. I'm going to show how I do it. I was telling the people last night, there are 10 ways in PS to get the same results and I'm going to show everyone what I do to the images. The cool part is we kind of learn new things along the way and how people do things. Cool short cuts and the sort.

I tell people you dont have to know photoshop you have to know how to use certian tools well and you can make your own images stand out against all the other photographers.

Tracy

Attended the class last night and found it very informative. I want to attend this workshop as well, but my question is this. I do use Photoshop for post processing the things Lightroom won't handle, ie. liquify, portraiture etc. Specifically, will the workflow steps you cover in PS translate over to Lightroom. Some processing steps are just easier to do in Lightroom that they are in PS. Currrently, about 80% of my PP is in LR and 20% in PS.

THANKS!

Terry

I can cause I do the same thing Terry does. Basically everything you teach outside of layers and liquify could be recreated in Lightroom. I am planning on coming to the workshop and learning what I can from you in PS, then I will have to decide on how to apply it to my current workflow. If I see you doing something that I know I can reproduce in LR I will have to decide whether it makes sense to do it in LR before I take the image to PS or not. This implies though that the person have enough knowledge of LR or any other front end app that they can make the translation from what you are teaching to what functionality is available in the front end app and understand from you how necessary what steps are to perform in a specific order or if the steps can be performed in a different order.
