This class sounds pretty interesting to me. Has anyone seen his speak before or taken one of his classes?

I clicked on the link for more information but it just really talks about how he is a successful photographer, not what the course is about. What is it aimed at? Is it just a lecture or hands on? Do we bring a camera? Film? Digital? 35mm? LF?

Precision Camera sponsored the Austin Photo Expo this weekend. I attended a one hour workshop by Bill Fortney this afteroon. Well worth the time. I would have loved the class to have been 3 1/2 hrs!

Well it's open to 200 attendees so I'm guessing a hands-on workshop is not likely. Probably lecture and slide-show with anecdotes.

I've been to some (presumably) similar lectures in the past from other photographers, such as Bob Krist to name one. I didn't necessarily learn any concrete techniques or tips to directly apply to my own photography. But viewing the work of an accomplished photographer and hearing their thoughts and experiences can be both enlightening and inspiring.

I recently remember seeing some of Fortney's "America from 500 Feet" images in a magazine and they were really great. I may try to attend this one.
