Where do ACR Presets go on a mac? - 06-07-2009, 06:26 PM

Hi! I'm trying to install some ACR presets and the instructions say to place them in Library/Application Support/Adobe/Camera RAW/Settings. I don't have a Settings folder there and can't just create one. I can't for the life of me figure out how I got them installed on my old computer. Anyone know where these go? I'm on a mac with CS4.

Thanks!

I really don't know a whole lot about the Mac OS X file setup Margaret, but there are two Library folders. One is part of the Macintosh HD directory and the other is part of your Home directory. I think that if you follow the path you have listed from the Home directory there will be a Settings folder in the Camera RAW folder.

I know this is an old thread but I'm trying to load presets to the folder. As far as I can tell, the presets should go to this folder:

library>application support>Adobe>CameraRaw>Settings

is this right? If so, I can't see the settings folder. However, when I save a preset in ACR, it saves to this folder. Would this folder be hidden for any reason? And if so, how can I "unhide" it :)

The key is that there are two Library folders, one in the root directory of your hard drive and the other in the Home folder (the one with the little house icon in Finder). The Home folder may have another name depending on how you set up the Mac when new. It should be listed under the Places group on the left side of the Finder window. If the name is not home, the easy way to find it is to open finder, then click on the "Go" menu and then "Home" on the drop-down list. From there click on your folder sequence and you should find the Settings folder in that CameraRaw folder.
