According to Maxtor's web site, the current 2TB NAS model is STM320004SDA20G-RK and it appears they only offer a "1 year limited warranty". They don't elaborate on what "limited" means

http://www.maxtor.com/en/hard-drive-...ual-drive.html
The BOX and paper work shows 5 Year limited warranty, the limited is the power cord is 1 year warranty and limited on the HD is failure not abuse. I hope this helps! If you have any questions you can call 1-800- Seagate...

thanks,

WD, Buffalo, Iomgega, Verbatim, Toshiba, SimpleTech, Samsung, Seagate and etc..... will not recover your data! That's why as a Professional Phtotographer you have to BACK-UP your BACK-UP to several places, just in case of fire, theft or what ever comes your way!!!!!

but why spend you hard earn $$$$ for a one year warranty when you can get 4 more years! The way the economy is right now, I prefer to get a 5 year warranty and be able to replace my $500 NAS Hard Drive as many times as I might need! I hope this helps.......

thanks,
angel m. leal jr.

Go to this link
http://www.maxtor.com/en/hard-drive-...s-edition.html
then click the Tab that says WHAT's Included,
the last bullet point is
5-year Limited Warranty or call 1-800-Seagate. I hope this helps, if not let me know and I can get you some help from inside Seagate?

If you also download the Data sheet on this NAS drive it also states 5 year limited warranty....

later,
angel m. leal jr.
