Can't say that I've explicitly tried it, but it should be OK. My experience is that pretty much all 32-bit software runs fine under x64 OS except for hardware-driver related software. Win 7 is essentially Vista with tweaks and streamlining, so software that works in Vista should work in Win7.

I'm not so lucky. I just purchased a new laptop and cannot install CS3. I've been getting a funky error saying Session has dependencies that cannot be satisfied.

I'm currently crawling thru web pages to figure out the issue.

Re: installing photoshop CS4 "session has dependencies that cannot be satisfied"

"session has dependencies that cannot be satisfied"

Thats a funny one. Doesn't surprise me, too many alcoholics and addicts working at Microsoft maybe

What version of windows are you all running? I'm running Home Premium and I've heard from several people to upgrade to the professional version and that "should" take care of the issue. As of right now I get an error about 15 seconds after popping the disk in. Same thing happens when trying to install from the desktop.

a lot of times it has to do with security settings and permissions. Have you tried to loosen up them?

Ooh, I had a similar experience when I first installed CS3 on my system (when I still had XP). I had to go through and delete anything Adobe and Macromedia, even hidden files you can only see in Safe Mode before it would install correctly. I came across this rant and it helped me figure out my problems more than anything. It's amazing that a company like Adobe would allow such a serious install error to occur.

disabled firewall, wiped the disk clean an restarted from factory settings and then disabled firewall again, played around with the xp compatibility feature (that folks swear is only available on the professional version). My next move is to go back to best buy and threaten to return the computer & see if they'll have the geek squad guys take a look at it. Next move after that would be to sneak the CS3 disk in best buy's demos and see if it'll even start to load If it does then i'll pick that laptop up

CS4 demo downloads and runs perfectly from adobe's site. Its just the doggone CS3. Never had this issue with my laptop with the installs of cs3.

Firewalls do nothing for install.

First fully update win7; new Java, Flash, etc.
Create a new user, make them admin and remove any security restrictions.
Turn off antivirus
try again.
