Macbook and external Monitor help

Looking to buy an external monitor for my macbook,
for processing my Crw files into Jpegs for the printers,
also will be buying a "spyder" for calibrating it,

anyone out there have any good advice for a good one to buy,
my macbook bites, for sending pics out for printing,
I wanna
see what I get,
and
get what I see,

You could get a new 27" iMac, it would be great for double duty as an external monitor for your MacBook.

But seriously, you should probably be looking for a monitor that uses an IPS panel. They tend to offer pretty good color reproduction.
