Careful with eBay Software. I have had buddies who have bought software for a good cost on eBay to only find out that they were copies with Avery Prints on the CDs ... and the Serial was already being used.

I would also request for more realistic pics; if you are in fact thinking about buying from a certain person on eBay. If they hassle you for asking more pics then don't buy. A seller is more than likely going to take a bit more time to take another photo for you if they really have the product just to get it on the move on.

I did a quick search -- turns out I was wrong...

Student version cannot be used for commercial purposes, but education version can.

Can a Student Edition also be used for commercial purposes?

In North America, Student Edition software can be used for commercial purposes. Outside North America, Student Edition software is for noncommercial purposes only.

Can I use a Student Edition after I graduate?

Yes, after you graduate, you may continue to use your Student Edition; the license does not expire.

You might as well find a hacked version and save the $ because in essence that's what you're getting from an unauthorized seller. Would you buy a stolen lens or camera? Or even more appropriate is how would you feel if your customers downloaded your images and printed them for free? Same-same...

What I don't understand is why Ebay let's these folks do business. If I was Adobe, I'd have at least one employee shutting down every auction of illegal product that pops up.

I have had good success with buy.com in over a dozen transactions. When I read the complaints they were mainly for refurbished products. I bought a refurbished Garmin from them at a really good price and it was still in the original packaging. The only downside was that the maps were two years old. I live on a new street and it thinks I am in the middle of a pasture. lol

With buy.com and Amazon.com, be wary of the source, as they have 3rd party sellers. If you are buying directly from buy.com or Amazon, I wouldnt have much to worry about the purchase.

^^ That's a needle and a haystack find ... but ... oh it's CS2 ... so maybe that's a good find. At least to learn.

CS3 is much different than CS2 ... and is Intel Duo Core Compatible - 64-bit (well on a mac)

The jump from CS2 to CS3 in what you can do isnt that big of a difference. I am Graphic Designer and use Photoshop CS2 everyday, but I have also used CS3.
