Question MAC & PC Monitor... - 05-17-2010, 09:56 AM

Brittany and I have decided to stick with laptops since we do our own editing. She has a Macbook Pro, and I have a measly PC. However we like to edit using an external monitor.

Can anyone recommend a single monitor that is compatible with both Mac and PC, that we could both plug into when we want to edit? (obviously not at the same time)

Thanks.

It will be nearly impossible to calibrate a single display for two different computers. Just realize that and almost all displays have two inputs.

Scott,

Wouldn't it be possible to calibrate each time? I understand you couldn't just plug and go, but couldn't you calibrate back to each computer's video card each time you switched, accepting some small variability in results? Just trying to verify if I have learned anything...

If possible, I would say it isn't the most efficient. By the time you travel, hook up to monitor, warm up monitor, calibrate - your money will be better spent on your own monitor (with a decent panel) when compared to your time.

just a thought.

Of course it can be done, but like you said, it would most likely be a bigger pain than purchasing a second display. Of course YMMV.
