This is a discussion on file recovery systems within the Computer Hardware forums, part of the Photography Information category; if one doesn't work, might another? Or do they all work pretty much the same?...

yes...I deleted a file on compact flash obviously by stupidity and would like it back. I tried PC Inspector File Recovery and it wouldn't recover it...so I'm currently trying another program. Wondering if there is any hope.

I believe some are more successful than others. If it was over-written, it may be impossible. I think a key was if it was used much after the deletion and if it was deleted or reformatted.

Good luck.

Not necessarily, nothing in a windows system is ever truly deleted. Thats why programs like DBAN have make many many writes to "delete" files, so it can bury it so far down that most software cant find it.

If it just happened recently, you should be fine. Run the Piriform Recuva and im pretty sure you should be able to get your file back.
