CS5 on a Mac Pro with 4 Monitors - 06-30-2010, 01:43 PM

Is anyone running Photoshop CS5 on a Mac Pro system with four monitors? It will not work on my Windows 7 system unless I disable the fourth monitor. I have been thinking of moving that system to a Mac Pro and wonder if the Mac version of CS5 has the same problem.

Well, if anyone wants to know, the Mac Pro with two video cards and four monitors (non-Apple) runs Photoshop CS5 fine.

Why not more? from stock trading to go.com The number of people with over the top multi-monitor setups is staggering. What surprises me is why four monitors did not work on win 7 as XP natively supports 10 monitors. Perhaps the system was misconfigured?

Actually three monitors and a Wacom Cintiq 21. Two have Lightroom in the duel-monitor mode, Photoshop on another using the Wacom to do detailed edits and selections.

Just makes it a little simpler to move between then, plus plugins on the Photoshop screen.

Not misconfigured, it worked fine with everything else. It is a problem with Photoshop that goes back to at least CS4. It crashes on startup as part of the scripting function. I can either remove the scripting file or disconnect the fourth monitor to get CS5 to work. Adobe knows and has known about the issue since CS4, but my guess is that not enough customers care about four or more monitors to give it much priority.
