Exclamation Laptop Help - 08-25-2010, 11:12 AM

Hi EveryOne,

I have been searching on best buy but i can't find a laptop that suits my photography needs. Everytime i think i found a good one & read the reviews its always something bad about that one laptop.

Im trying to find a laptop with the below:

Intel Core i5 or i7
500 or 640 GB Hard Drive
4 GB Memory
Nvidia Ge Force graphics
keyboard backlit -( i would like this but if not thats fine.)
Built in Wireless networking - to hook up to a wireless internet server

Any good suggested laptops???

Thanks

Hmm ... a laptop with 500 or 640gb ... wow

I believe most of the pro laptops now have either the i5 or i7 processor.

Did you not like the suggestions from your other thread? Or are you looking for someone to give you an exact choice?

If going for an exact choice ... I say 13" MacBook Pro. If you go to Best Buy ask them for the one with 500Gb in it.

Computer should come out just under 1400.

Hey Ray,
Im trying to stay away from apple right now. Um i though that someone would post something very close to my requirements for my laptop rather then the other thread that i didn't have any idea of that i wanted within the laptop itself.

Definitely go look at the Dell Studio. I just got one with the i5 a couple of months ago, but didn't go the large HDD. Very fast and I got it for a little over a grand. 15.6" screen, 720p (can go to 1280p) and the backlit keyboard which is great!

I would actually avoid the i5 processor if you're going with a full fledged gaming card. The hyperthreading in the i7 will give your gaming a boost (I assume that's why you want a gaming card?) as well as a boost to your photoshopping.

Laptop wise if you want a gamer there's several choices from Asus, MSI, and maybe some Lenovo/IBM options though I'm not sure if any of them have the backlit keyboard.

I also recommend the Asus computer if you want to stick with the windows end and the sticking with the Hyper Threading of the i7 Processor. When I use to build Windows computers, I would always use Asus parts. Great company.

Out of curiosity, why not the Mac??
