Forget Lightroom.... can your computer read the files on the drive? If the computer can "see" the images, then it's not really corrupted, Lightroom cannot "find" the images.

There is an "update folder location" under the edit in Lightroom... you may just need to change the file location within Lightroom to get them all back with the data
Sorry... it's under a right-click of the folder you are trying to locate
There is also a "find missing photos" option under the library

Did you copy or move the files? If you copied them, even if the copies on the new drive are corrupt the original images should be OK, right? I don't see how copying a file could corroupt the original, unless you had some sort of hardware failure on the original drive.

upon closer inspection some of the files actually made it but the vast majority of my work failed the process

Go thru the steps taken to copy the files for us.... maybe there's something that we can tell what happened......

sounds like the copy timed out on the transfer... any errors during the process? depending on the delay it could cause the entire job to fail

Ryan,
Before you do anything else contact fellow member Rson. He has helped many TPF members recover files from problematic drives. I know we have many members on this forum that are knowledgeable but Rson is a genius. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
