I don't know much about computers. I use two monitors (Dell) and they have been working fine until yesterday.
The no. 2 monitor shut itself down several times right in the middle of my work and the mouse and keyboard froze up. After rebooting, it worked for a while then did it again.

I tried to disconnect the monitor and turn off the two monitor capability but now the no. 1 monitor comes on with great big icons and the mouse doesn't work.

Somebody said the videio card is bad ? How do I fix this ?

Check the drivers, Download a fresh driver from the video cards website and reload them.

Reboot after the reload and see if the fixes it. If not, card may be bad.

Check newegg.com but first tell me about your computer...how old?

i'll link you to some good deals on cards.

I would also recommend connecting and checking each monitor individually. This will help you narrow it down if it is a graphics card issue or display issue. The freezing of the mouse, KB and system shut down is not related to the display. A faulty display cannot cause those issues as displays only receive data from your desktop. One simple way of checking to see if the display is faulty is to plug in the monitor to an AC outlet and turn it on, but don't boot up your computer. Dell monitors have a self test feature in them - if a box pops up that says check video cable, then the display should be fine.
