Question Printers: photo and document - 10-18-2010, 10:50 PM

Tired of sending emailed documents and such to either my wife to print at work or to CVS for photo prints, I'm in the market for a printer or printers. It looks like I'll end up with two printers, unless someone has a better suggestion.

For documents, I'm most interested in a color laser for sharpness. It has been a few years since my Dell color inkjet (ca 2003) and the print quality was lacking. I recall my dad's laserjet was pretty crisp.

As for photos, I've never owned a photo printer before. I'm not looking to spend more than $300. There was a brand new Canon Pixma at MicroCenter that knocked my socks off, but it seems like that would be a waste of ink for document printing.

Suggesions? Warnings?

* EDIT: Whoops...just noticed there's a dedicated forum for this topic. Mods, no offense taken if ya move it! :D
