Thats really cool....my work load doesnt warrant a multibay backup system. So i have a Antec actively cooled ex-hdd 2tb on eSATA

You may want to hold out until lightpeak is finalized. It's discussed in this thread, SportsShooter.com - firewire card readers discontinued

Well i don't see myself upgrading for the next few years, and until then I'm stuck with either 2.0 or FW. I wouldn't mind a FW Drobo.

i considered a Drobo, but instead just built a Windows Home Server. USB 3.0 sure will be nice - but i still don't have a 3.0 drive
