I'm about to buy this monitor..

MacMall | HP Smart Buy ZR24w 24-inch S-IPS Widescreen LCD Monitor VM633A8#ABA

What does HP smart buy mean? Is says to choose the model and there is another option for $500+ vs $399. Curious if anybody knows?

Different "guts," Color stability, and ability to calibrate.

Is this for a Mac? or PC?

It's for a pc. I don't see any differences in the hardware between the two..

Different UPC codes for each of them..... there is "something" different in the two

Look into LG monitors, they make Apple Cinema Displays, the better models are incredible.
