Windows 7 and internet

When my new Win7 computer takes a nap and then I bring it back to life , it loses the internet connection. What's up with this ? I don't know Jack about computers and don't know what other information you might need to solve this problem for me.

update the drivers for the network card first......

Hit start> type update in search bar

select custom update and i am pretty sure the devices like network card will be updated.

Have you done the initial updating first? If you bought a computer from CC, Best but, etc the software is out of date and needs to be updated. This might fix your issue.

for how long?

If your wireless, it will take a bit for the connection to be re-established (seconds not minutes)

If your wired, it should be almost instantaneous
