Most likely unless your paying for a business class solution your speeds will vary. Their verbage is up to and not guaranteed. There are so many variables that affect the speed and it might not have anything to do with your computer. Marketing at its best.

How can you check, Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test. It has been reliable for me when troubleshooting bandwidth issues.
If you are seeing a difference between your daytime and nighttime speeds, more than likely they are reallocating bandwidth from residential customers to their business customers. I see this when I'm working from home in the reduction in bandwidth and have complained to Comcast. They get an earful everytime I call as their CSR reps are crap.
the speed test here is showing the same thing I get with the company speed test...http://speedtest.entouch.net/

i noticed that what are they and how many should be running? How do I know which ones should be running? I noticed one of them is the biggest hog!!

btw...I am convinced this morning this has nothing to do with file sharing like the guy told me...I think the cable company has an issue ...maybe even with the cable outside. I am calling them this am to check it out. Luckily with this small company they will be quick and better yet...free!!

Are they saying that you have been using a file sharing program so they have throttled your bandwidth?

What package (Mbps) do you pay for?

One thing I noted - you have three AV programs running - Avast, Microsoft Security Essentials and McAfee Security Scanner (scheduler). You only need one. Personally, I'd suggest MSE. Uninstall Avast and McAFlees.
