Top 10 features that Apple stole from Windows | Windows - InfoWorld

I'm a fan of both companies, the competition is what drives innovation. Like others have said, both Apple and MS have "borrowed" ideas from all over the place. Microsoft actually had a touch screen tablet PC years and years ago, Apple just did it better. I think people get a little to high on the Apple crack, forget facts and think Jobs is Jesus.... Apple is fantastic at creating WANT for a product and they have GREAT design. But we can't forget that Microsoft still controls between 88%-91% of the market, that speaks volumes.

Biggest difference in MS & Apple... MS does not build computers. Apple licensed some other providers years ago, wasn't happy with the public response... anyone remember Power Computing? And what about LISA? And why does a Mac cost more than a PC?

Was a big supporter back in the day, even still have my first Mac... never cared for Jobs... love the Woz

But is there a advantage (valid) to switch to the mac platform and incur all the costs associated with it? Photoshop, etc....
Back and forth. So what have we learned here? ..... It's more about the software and less about the OS. Photoshop is photoshop.

I prefer Adobe's interface on OS X, and the way that everything works together within the OS and the hardware of the notebooks compared to the other brands out there. I also like drive a Volkswagen because of the style and the possible modifications and ride Triumph motorcycles.

Everyone makes a choice on one brand or the other, but unfortunately there are some Harley riders out there that will swear til the day they die that anything but a Harley is junk.

No love for GIMP? Free is good believe all platforms now.

GIMP - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Downloads
Review by Seth Rosenblatt - Oct 6, 2008
The volunteer developers of The GIMP have been working hard to develop a polished, user-friendly, and freely distributed image*…
download.cnet.com/GIMP/3000-219... - Options

Far from a pro or even a competent amateur, I tried it with some fair results. Then came the iPhone and iPad with 99 cent apps --
Life was good again.

GIMP can be a great choice for those who may not need the power and refinement of the non-free stuff. Open source software keeps getting better and in some cases is actually better. Many people don't even know the amount of good stuff out there.
