Woo Hoo New NAS Storage now online!

Finished the configuration and formatting of my new NAS this afternoon and its now loading.
Some of you may remember that I have been a big proponent of the HP MediaSmart Home servers (still am), however I needed to expand the storage, so...
I now have a Synology DS411 and a Synology DS211J on my network!
Both of them loaded with 2TB drives in RAID configurations.
One is home to notihing but photos (auto sync'd from all 4 computers).
One is home to docs, videos, a core iTunes library for the family and backups.
Both are setup for media server mode.

Next steps:
- loading up all the photos from each computer
- backing up each of the computers once that is complete
- creating new catalogs for LightRoom (on mine) and Elements Organizer (on the wife's and kids machines).
- de-authorizing all the machines in the various iTunes accounts, reconfiguring them and authorizing the machines and ipods after building the core repository.

Good choice... I love Synology, I think they have the best NAS. Dont forget to load the new DSM 3.1... it is awesome....

I am waiting for more 3TB and some 4TB to appear on the market :)
