Thermaltakeusa»Storage»Docking Station»BlacX Duet : BlacX Duet ST0014U

I use that with 2 normal computer hard drives in it. cheaper way to go if you want 1TB or more AND IMO a bit more stable.

I was just looking into this today.

Currently I have a Fantom 2TB drive that has a Hitachi 2TB drive in it. I like this drive because it has a e-SATA input which makes transfers very fast.

Just this morning I opted to go with a NAS, and I found the Synology DS211J diskless NAS for ~$210, and I will fill it with 2 Hitachi 2TB drives at ~65/ea.

Well, for starters "it's not big enough" is relative to each person's perspective.
So a few questions:
- What size is currently not big enough?
- How much you want to spend or not spend?
- You already stated that Portability was a big factor.

Answer the first 2 and we can better help steer you towards the right answer.
I have examples all over the place, because there are solutions that allow for up to 4TB, including Raid 5 and 10, but are not much bigger than the size of 4 notebook hard drives stacked...

So, it really depends on size and $$.
