Sure, that's correct. But it also stands to reason that today's fastest thing will be a viable computer for a longer period of time than today's modest computer, which will be viable for longer than today's mediocre machine. That being said I usually by the "modest" computer available when I purchase a computer but secretly lust after the "fast" computer. :) My current machine is a 24" iMac from roughly mid-2009. Still more than fast enough for what I throw at it.

Hey Your memory from other world computing upgraded to 16 gigs for a lil over 200 bucks. I have a late 2010 21.5 Imac and it works great. And for the virus people. I have been using macs for 25 years now and have not had one Single virus. and only one blue screen ;). I dont use Apple products because they are pretty and trendy. I use it because it fits my needs and does everything I ask without catching a cold or dying. The new I macs look promising especially with the 2 gigs of video ram on the 27 incher!

I'm seriously thinking of jumping the fence to an iMac. I use a MacBook Pro at school & really like it! My Dell laptop caught a virus so I'm looking for something new/better! Pretty sure it's (the Dell) trashed!

I have the MacPro and I love it. I like the iMac, but feel that the Mac Pro is more customizable (multiple drives, lots of Ram, etc.). One last thing. I can run two monitors.

My boss has the iMac with another monitor. Not sure how it's all connected, but he's a techie & knows what he's doing! I'm sure one monitor will be enough for me.

Probably in about 3 weeks, but Apple never lets you know until it is happening.
