Using a PlayStation 3 to upload and show photos? - 05-20-2009, 12:25 PM

Greetings, all!

Have any of you used a PlayStation 3 to upload and show photos in a professional or amateur setting? I've been curious to see if any photographers use the console this way, since it can be used to store and play all kinds of files.

Thanks!

I'm afraid I don't have that kind of experience with a PS3. :(

Hmm, Alan maybe you should come by and try. But you must also bring a bunch of your photos to load up my hard drive.
Toni,
I think there are quite a few lighter options than the PS3 and much more utilitarian too as you can't do much with the PS3
Welcome and nice avatar too.

It works fine. In my home studio, instead of hooking up the 30D to my TV via nasty composite cables, I use the PS3 or the 360. They are connected via HDMI so it is a clean digital signal. The PS3 will also display the pics in a slideshow if you like.
