Wacom tablet - 06-02-2011, 10:39 AM

I have one and it's one of the older Intuos tablets. It's been fine and dandy and helps with carpal tunnel issues.

But the cat loves it, too.

Has anyone ever had the cord kind of chewed up slightly and then repaired it? How likely is it that I can patch it up?

not knowing which model you have, is the cable "wired" to the tablet or does it plug in?

If it plugs in then it is probably a standard USB cable that you can replace fairly inexpensively. If it is hard wired (connected) to the tablet then I would probably contact a reputable repair facility. Unless you have excellent soldering skills and the nerve to open the tablet then I would pass the project to a professional.

Trying to just repair the break might introduce noise and interference into the USB signal.

My thoughts - S

I was thinking that it's probably not salvagable at this point. It's a USB, but the other end is hard-wired. After a quick google search, it is either an easy-fix $15 cable or a repair facility fee + $75 cable. I will check with Wacom to see what I can do.

Just good for the cat that she's cute, is all.

Oh! Yes. I will check with the holder of the purse strings. Has it been cat-proofed?

My cats never came near it.
So the cord is in perfect shape.

Now after it gets in proximity of your cat, all bets off. :-)

Thanks :) I might get a anti-kitty shield for ours. It seems to be working ok now. I'm being careful and keeping the cord in a certain position and it's holding :)
