It's sodimm DDR2 512MB and what seems to be 667Mhz.

I'm assuming you want to upgrade to 2GB so if you go to Fry's then look for 2x1GB kits of the same. If not you can use faster RAM, but the faster the more it costs obviously.

RAM is relatively cheap now , but DDR2 is rising in price due to DDR3 becoming the standard.

I would buy this.

Newegg.com - Crucial 4GB (2 x 2GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Laptop Memory Model CT2KIT25664AC667

I doubt fry's can touch the price.

Just a thought. Check your laptop manual or the website to what the specs are for maximum amount of memory. Some of the older models only allow 2 gig. Got a couple of them myself.

Totally agree. The worst thing other than buying a dead product is having to return it because you bought the wrong one or didn't support it.

Right. I avoid the previously opened stuff.

When they ask to see your receipt, politely say.....no.

You're not legally obligated to show it to them.

Note to Bob_S - I thought everything at Fry's was open box....my bad...

A good read on door checkers.

Texas law is very similar, the store has to prove you stole not you prove you bought.

Yep. I just say "No thanks." or "That's ok, thanks" and keep walking. It has never been an issue because they just say "Okay".

They do have a LOT and I', always wary of it. I shop at Best Buy, Newegg, Buy.com and deals from DealNews.com too so I'm by no means a Fry's fanboy. :)
