Flash delima on 64 bit HP system - 10-11-2011, 07:07 PM

This is Help a Chic Out ...

Flash does not run correctly on my 64 bit HP w/ Windows System 7 Home, IE 9.0 (64 bit), and Flash (Adobe Flash Player 11 Active X 64 bit).
It's not compatable and has severe banding and even disapears often.
They say IE 9.0 has 32 bit Flash inbeded but it appears not to work either.

How do you run Flash correctly on a 64 bit system ???

Take a look at this page that gives instructions for what you are wanting to do.

ok wait.

All because you have 64bit win doesn't mean you are running 64 bit IE. The 2 are mutually exclusive. You can have a 64bit OS and most programs are 32bit still. Run IE and it should be fine. Ignore the 64 bit version of IE it ha a parentheses (64).

Firefox is 32 bit still.

Download Firefox, install it, reboot, install Flash and Java then try it.

Must be cause its still beta and I can't seem to get Flash 10 anymore.

Note - My system did that damm auto upgrade thing ...
Recovery is such a pain and this fox aint ready for FireFox.

Simply don't run IE 9 (64 bit) you don't need it. Run the IE that simply say's Internet explorer.

As Rson says if you must use IE use the non64 bit version, I believe most recent testing of IE9 has shown IE(64) to be slower than the regular IE.

You might try going into the control panel and uninstalling all instances of Flash and then reinstalling from the Adobe site.

Very Good Idea - This seems to work

You have 64 bit bit Firefox will run on 32bit. Get a newer version and run the flash in 32 bit. It will not work with 64bit. Not all the programmes will run on 64 bit.
