So, what did you use to make the 12GB ram disk? I'm curious. I feel like my 24GB is just sitting there unused most of the time.

Ramdisk plus. It is certified my MS. I have been using this for about 2 years now. I have been running this on my x64 Win7 machine for about 2 years now... love it.... I use it to cache everything.
RamDisk - Microsoft Certified Software

I think I have seen some other free ramdisk software out there.
