50C is pretty cool to run at, mostly they are rated up to around 70C

All RAM is not created equal, so some require more cooling than others. Having a big heatsink roughly means an inefficient design that is wasting a lot of energy creating heat.

Better designed hardware would run less hot, waste less power and require smaller heatsinks. So bigger certainly doesn't mean better...

I have some Apple RAM on hold at the Willow Bend store. If I don't hear from Transcend by the time I leave the office today, I'm buying it and returning the other to B&H.

BTW, it's heeeeeerrrrrreeeee.....

They were double boxed from B&H. The damage was from Apple->B&H. No harm done, and it's really not as bad as my image looks.

The best damage we ever received at the store- forklift pierced a hole straight thru two Mac Pro boxes on the pallet when we first got them in. Straight thru the casing, that was awesome.
The corner bumps aren't uncommon, nice thing is there's so much styrofoam inside that it'll take a huge drop for anything to get damged.
