Burning Pics to DVD Problems - 03-06-2007, 09:50 AM

I have a DVD burner on my PC at home. I'd like to burn some of my pictures to a DVD. I have the Nero package that came with the burner. It will only let me make a "picture CD". The picture CD will play in my DVD player but the resolution is less that acceptable. What am I doing wrong? Should I be able to burn my pics to the DVD so that I can play them in my DVD player (the one attached to the HDTV in my family room)?

What I would like to achieve is the ability to show my pics on TV through the DVD player and have them appear in nearly the same resolution as what I'm used to seeing on the computer monitor. I guess what I want to do is used the DVD player as a "slide projector" if you know what I mean. Is that possible?

I have that same software package. Tell it to make a Data DVD rather than a picture DVD and I believe that should work. If it doesn't PM me for more info.

Your DVD player is not going to be able to show them at a resolution higher than 720×480.

There are exceptions, but 99% of DVD players are not capable of outputting HD resolution.

There are lots of options for displaying photos in HD resolution on your TV. A media center PC, and Xbox 360, Roku Photobridge, and many others.....
