Mediasonic support USB 3.0 which is a really good way to connect to your machine. If your machine doesn't support usb 3 natively you would need to purchase an adapter for around $25-35. I use all 3 (USB2; eSATA; USB3) to support outboard drives and, to me, USB3.0 is the most flexable.
