Anyone pre-ordering the new 17" Macbook Pro?

All Macs come with iLife, the current version available when you make your purchase.
If you buy new Macs starting today, it will include iLife 09 on them.

Yeah, iLife comes with Macs. Right now you have the controversy over those that purchased Macs with iLife 08 having to pay $10 for iLife 09, but frankly I don't have issued with paying the additional $10 if the software has better features. Those cost money, right?

Anyway, I don't use iLife, or any other iSoftware, except iTunes. Someone else is better to speak of their functionality and utility.

So how do I upgrade? Can I DL an upgrade? Or do I have to go into a store to do so?
Since I'm purchasing a used MBP, will the upgrade be as seamless as an original owner?

Well, those of us who pre-ordered are awaiting the 19th which appears to be the first delivery date Apple will stand by.

This sure must be one heck of a machine.

i just heard last night from reputable apple sources, that an email was sent out, saying they have again been delayed until the end of February. I was sick of waiting so I picked up a plain jane 13" macbook yesterday. so far, it handles cs4 without issue.

Well, you may have moved prematurely. Early January pre-orders began shipping this morning. As of now, those that have ordered 1/15 or sooner are on the truck.

going by the apple site, the ship date has changed from feb 19th to 3-4 weeks. i don't know about delivery dates for any preorders though. but i can tell you there are approx 10,000 pre-orders already in the system. so if you haven't ordered yet, don't expect it before march, at best. hopefully i'm wrong though, the sooner they get the mbp out, they can begin the release of the new next-gen iMacs.

Yeah, understood.

On macrumors.com, there are several who have screen snaps that exhibit shipping items; however, they preordered early January.

I ordered late Jan, so I expect mine next week.

well, looks like the rumors were true, people have reported receiving their new 17" mbp's over the last day or so! so all of you that preordered, be on the look out! they should be shipping out soon!
