I will have almost the same system but with AMD tomorrow if you want some reviews before you make the plunge.

I would build a i7 computer if I was to build one right now.

This is almost identical to what I just built. Same CPU, mobo, ram. It overclocked to 3.6ghz with ease. Havn't tried for more because it SCREAMS right now, and seems like a sweet spot for this chip. Not to mention, it is air cooled and under full load, the temps are decent.

You will love it, a buddy of mine just built a new I7 and I think he regrets the money spent compared to this setup!

I went with a 265 based video card, and honestly don't think a 285 will show that much more performance unless you are going to do some serious hardcore gaming. I am running dual 22" wide screens with ease. Photoshop loves it!

I'm going to be doing some gaming and 3-d modeling with it as well so the GPU may be of some assistance. It's also going to serve as my DAW. I'm glad to hear it overclocks to 3.6 well - I wasn't going try to push it to 4GHz or anything; just something stable and fast.

You could probably push it to 4 as long as you are running it on Castrol.
