Dell monitor help - 04-05-2009, 08:03 PM

I’m having a hard time picking out a new Dell monitor. Last week my 22” Dell E228WFP went out and I’m now using my back up 19” Dell S1909WX. For the most part I was happy with the picture quality on 22” Dell. I’m also fine with the quality of the 19” Dell, I just want something bigger. I believe I’ve narrowed it down to 3 choices, but I’m not sure? I don’t want anything that’s going to be worse then what I had and I’d rather not go over $300 unless it’s really that much better of a monitor.

The three I’m looking at are the Dell S2209W, Dell S2409W and possibly the more expensive Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP. Are these three decent choices or am I over looking one? Other then a little clean up here and there i try to do as little post processing as possible. I use Nikon ViewNX and Capture NX 2, I don't use Photoshop.

Thanks for any advice!

After a little more research I ran across the Dell UltraSharp 2209WA and I have one on its way.

Discussion of the 2209WA HERE

I have the 2209WA, and love it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I see you ordered one. Let us know how you like it.

I just picked up a set of Dell 2408WFP monitors and couldn't be happier. I know they are a bit more expensive and also bigger but if there is a 22" that has the same specs or is the same series I would suggest it. They are really good monitors and have exceptional color. Very little was changed when I calibrated but they do have tons of options that you can adjust to get a great calibration if for some reason yours needs tweaking. They also have a million different inputs, it's really set up more like a TV in this regard than a monitor.

Thanks!

Hopefully I’ll have the new monitor by next week. I also ordered a Spyder2express while I was at it.
