Proofing question? - 07-28-2009, 10:16 AM

I am having trouble understanding the proofing setup of my website. Can I have more than 1 password protected area so my clients won't see each other photos or is there only 1 password? Also it seems to me that the proofing section is a completely different website and has to be linked to from my main site, is this correct?

Anyone can chime in if they wish.

It will depend on your website provider and how they have set it up. Only someone that knows that info can help you out here. BTW I responded to your PM and it says your PM box is full. You have to delete a few from time to time.

CMD thanks for resolving my issue. Here is there reply.

You need to create a new top level gallery for each client.

For example I want to create a gallery for my client Peter.

I log in to my site and click on proofing. From the Add New Proofing Gallery screen that comes up, I would type "Peter's Gallery" and then click "Add gallery"
Then I would click to edit this newly created gallery. From there I would go to Gallery Design and enter a password. This new password will be the keyword that will open the Peter Gallery from the password page on my main site.

Each new gallery you set up in your cart is given a unique address and you can assign a password to it for added security. Clients can access the gallery directly (you send them the url) or via the sign in page

When client A goes to the sign in page they input their pass word and are directed to the gallery you set up for them. When client B enters his password he is taken to the gallery you set up for him.

So you do not need more than one pass word protected area as each gallery is protected and can only be accessed by the client who has the pass word.
