Creativity Exercise #10: Change your perspective on life

Sometimes a mundane scene can be made extraordinary just by changing your viewpoint. For the next couple weeks, try to force yourself to take the same photo from 3 different viewpoints and see what looks more interesting. Try laying on the ground or climbing some stairs before you depress your trigger. Make it your goal this week to get one real "wow" photo. Good luck and have fun.

You can do this from more than just a physical perspective too. I spent a morning in Sienna doing touristy shooting, from the following 3 perspectives

1/ an ant
2/ a small child
3/ an adult

The things you point your camera at change as well as the height you might shoot them from, for example as an 'ant' I was more concerned about not being stood upon or food, as a child I was shooting from a low angle, but at other children or up in to toy shop windows. As an adult I was more concerned with attractive women or window shopping for expensive italian gifts - the pictures reflect this changing focus
