Creativity Exercise #20: Holiday Spectacular

With the Holidays fast approaching, cameras will be clicking away feverishly.

Your goal this month is to snap some artistic photos that are holiday themed.

I have no real instruction, other than try to make the photo look less like a family snap shot and something that looks throughout. Think about the stuff you do and don't include in the frame. Look at different lighting and angles. Try looking for new and inventive subject matter.

These don't all have to be serious shots. This is a joyful season, so introduce some levity to your shots as well.

Good luck and Happy Holidays!

**Normally I request only basic photo editing, but this time you can do whatever editing you want.

**Each participant can post as many shots as they like, but try not to go crazy.

Next Exercise: 01-01-2007

Hi, new here but I thought I'd contribute some creative shots I did over the last week:

This one was done purposely out of focus to look at all the purty specular highlights:

This was done using a 15sec exposure while moving the camera:

Same concept, different subject:

Finally, an exploding tree, which would have looked a lot cooler had I used a tripod and zoomed slower:

All the best,

Matt
