Creativity Exercises: The Way It Works - 10-13-2005, 02:21 PM

Wow, our own creativity section. Many thanks go out to Abel and all the others that make this one of the best photo forums on the internet.

Any who, Creativity is one of the corner stones to good photography. Creativity is also one of the hardest things to develop if it doesn't come to you naturally. The idea behind these Creativity Exercises is to inspire photographers to use their equipment and environment in new ways. Each exercise will be themed, similarly to the photo assignments, but these themes will be restrictive in some way to help force the photographer to explore new ideas and techniques.

The Rules:

1.) Basic Photoshoping is allowed, but no heavy filtering or photo manipulation. If you want to convert to B&W, color correct, or clone out a distracting element, that's okay, but keep the heavy photoshoping to the Photoshop Challenge section.

2.) Each exercise posting will have its own set of rules, follow those.

3.) Each participant will be encouraged to post 2-3 of the images they've created for the exercise. These postings are for inspiration and discussion.

That's pretty much it, have fun and participate.

Note: These exercises never really close so if you are new here or want to try/retry any older exercise, feel free to do so and post you images. Also, if anyone ever has an idea for an exercise, just send me a PM...I'm always looking for cool ideas.
