Not sure what you were trying to get, but it's a little weird since I know were the building should go and their not there.

What is your inspiration?

Well,,,, I didn't take out any buildings, but tried to fill the gap with the moon.
Perhaps the angle (from the south) is unusual ??

The original untouched shot is probably going to be a tad small here, but just for clarification and orientation.

tom,

cool shot, but you might want to reset your black point. On my monitor that shows much more contrast than many can see, I can see the square clip around the moon. It's darker black than the sky.

Ahh, usually I go into Image/Adjustments/Curves then click on one of the 3 droppers in the lower right of the dialogue box. The one on the left is black, middle is grey, and right is white. Click on the black dropper, then click in the image where you want black to be. In this case I'd choose the general sky as my black point. Then I'd adjust levels to bring the contrast back up. HTHs.

You're right Tom, I'm an idiot, I was thinking about downtown from the wrong angle. This is actually a pretty cool vantage point. Where exactly is it taken from.

Robert: Thanks, I hope it looks better now...

Evil: taken from the steps of the Amon Carter Museum with my new Sigma 70-200 at 200mm approx. 10s at 5.6 or 8 ?? I don't have a great deal of experience with long exposures, except in daylight landscapes.

I originally put together 4 frames for a panorama, but the results were less than what I was looking for. I cropped the pano and worked on it with my very limited PS abilities.

It does remind me of a conversation overheard one day.

Blonde A - "Which is farther away, New York City, or the moon ?"

Blonde B - "Well, obviously New York City is farther away !"

Blonde A - "Why do you say New York City is farther away ?"

Blonde B - "Well !! You can't see New York City from here can you ?"
