Trammell Crow Lake Park: Dallas Skyline - 05-26-2009, 08:30 AM

Trammell Crow Lake Park
3700 Sylvan Ave
Dallas, TX 75207

I was finally able to get here after reading a few posts about Dallas Skyline shots. There is a lot of potential for some great shots.

Here are some shots from my "scouting" missions. I will definately go back! These were taken Sunday morning within about 20 minutes of each other.

The veiw does not have a reflection but if you go on just past the park to the levie you have another view.

I wondered about that. I'll have to venture a bit further next time. Thanks for the heads up.

This looks like it may be a classic case of longer lens is better. Maybe a vertical stitch thing. Do something to make the buildings look bigger.

These were taken with a Tokina 12-24 at 14mm. For the first shot, I think a firey sky whould make this a great image but I just love the deep blues. For the second, I wanted to incorporate the poppies in the foreground with Dallas in the background. I had bit of trouble because the sun was rising just to the left of the tree (notice the ghosting). I'm going back at sunset so the sun will be behind me.

I had my 18-200 VR with me a took a few shots at the 200mm end but I had seen those shots here several times before so I wanted to go in a different direction with these.

This is certainly an fun place to shoot with countless possibilities.
