Photogenic Lighting kit in Craigslist...

Ok - who's the lucky dog who braved the storms Wednesday night to go buy that 4-light Photogenic lighting kit listed yesterday on Dallas Craigslist?!?!?!

You probably got $2.5-$3K worth of equipment for $1K !!!

I decided to wait for the storms to blow through and you bought it !!!!!

That was me. I was hoping the storm would hold off as I drove to Arlington from Dallas. It hit full force while I was sitting in traffic on 161 & 183. It was pretty ugly, but blew through pretty quick.

You're right, it was about $3,500 worth of stuff. He had Manfrotto boom type light stands. Most of the equipment looks like it was barely used. The counterweight bags had never been used. He also had wheel sets for all the light stands that hadn't even been out of the box. That's why I braved the storm because I knew they wouldn't be there long. I guess if I had waited, you'd be telling me your story.

It's more than I need, but now I have it, I'll figure out how to use it. That's the only real deal I've seen on Craigslist. Most of the stuff is about $5 off list. I guess it's smarter to be lucky than it's lucky to be smart.

I had recently decided to buy a full strobe set and had been looking at new and pre-owned setups for about a week. Had I been at the office that day, I would have gone the second it showed up on CL. But I was working from home and my family was really scared about the storms so I stayed with them.

I ended up buying an Alien Bees kit that had a few more light mods than the CL listing, but was twice the price.

Seriously that was an AMAZING deal just by what was listed, so congrats on the steal...uh, sorry...the great BUY !!!!
